A Package For Tedi

Andi was talking to herself. "Now do I want to send a flat rate box or a regular box?" she asked, pondering the two boxes that were on the floor in front of her. "Maybe I should send two boxes. Should I use bubble wrap? Or peanuts? I can never quite decide on these things."
"Andi, where have you been? We have a dentist appointment in an hour!" Andi’s younger sister, Angel came running into the room.
"Calm down, Angel, it only takes us ten minutes to get to the dentist," Andi replied. "There is plenty of time."
"Maybe for you. I need at least a half hour ahead of time to sit in the waiting room and read old magazines and worry, I also like chatting with the receptionist, she has such neat ideas for dresses and stuff. Besides, I hate being late. What are you doing?"
"Trying to decide which box to use to send to Tedi. Aunt Kay knitted sweaters for Bethany and Betty, because Tedi helped her to get through her chemotherapy treatments."
"That was nice of her," said Angel, looking at the sweaters. "I think the twins will appreciate them. But I think you and I should send them something too. After all, we are probably related to them."
"Good thought," Andi replied. "We are all Sharons, after all. I know, why don’t we send some bracelets? I will..."
"Hi girls," interrupted Corky, coming in the room. "Andi, here is the tissue paper you asked for. What are you sending?"
"Some sweaters to Tedi’s twins," Andi explained. "Thanks, Corky."
"You know there is an Emma at Tedi’s house, too," said Corky. "Her name is Sunny. Aren’t you sending something to her, too? Betty and Bethany are always giving her a hard time."
"Well, we weren’t planning to," said Andi guiltyly. "I guess we could send her a bracelet or something."
"Wait a minute. That’s not fair. An Emma is being neglected!" shouted Corky. "Just you wait till the Noble Order of Emmas hears about this. I will put it on the agenda for our next meeting!"
Next thing Angel and Andi knew they were surrounded by Emmas!
"What’s going on?" asked Carin.
"What Emma? Where?" asked Taryn.
"Emmas should not be neglected ever, and there should never be only one Emma. You need two Emmas to have balance!" said Penny.
"What can we do about it?" asked Kerry.
Corky explained the situation to the other Emmas.
"This almost is making me forget worrying about going to the dentist," whispered Angel to Andi.
"Well, what do we have that we could send her?"
The Emmas conferred. Suggestions of left over peanut butter eggs from Easter, a pair of MT shoes that Penny didn’t like because they pinched her toes, a bubble croc, and Randy’s chain saw were rejected (the chain saw only because it might get the two sweaters dirty. Even though Randy was very possessive of his power tools, the girls were tired of the buzzing and chopping that seemed to go on all the time.).
"Maybe we should send her a bracelet," commented Penny. Just then Kimmie walked carrying a pink dress.
"Hi everybody," said Kimmie. "What’s up?"
"Kimmie, whose dress is that?" asked Penny.
"Nobody’s yet," Kimmie replied. "I am going to give it to whoever will volunteer to do the dishes this week."’
"The whole week?" Taryn asked. She was not at all fond of washing dishes.
"Yes. This is a high quality dress. It has cats on it, and sparkles. It is worth a week of dish washing. Breakfast, lunch, and supper. The Micales suggested they might want it. I am just going to talk to them; I must check on my organogram board and plot a graph first."
"No, wait, Kimmie, we need a dress urgently. Please let us have it," said Corky. "We need something to send to Sunny, the neglected and lonely Emma at Tedi's place. It will be perfect. If we all work together, we can get the dishes done. We can get the crocs to help."
"Great idea, Corky," said Carin. "Let’s do it. Andi, do you have room in your box for a dress?"
"I’ll make room," said Andi. "In fact, if you Emmas wouldn’t mind packing the box, I’d appreciate it, because I cannot decide which box to use. Unfortunately, Angel and I have a date with the dentist."
"Even doing the dishes is better than that," Taryn pointed out. "OK, girls, we’ll take it from here!
"At least we Twinns don’t have the protruding front teeth like the American Girls do," commented Kerry. "I always feel they should go to the orthodontist when I see one of them."
Suddenly a Theresa appeared in the doorway. "Hi, is this the box going to South Africa?"
"No, to Ohio," said Carin. "Sorry."
"Oh dear," said Kimmie. "You were supposed to have been shipped weeks ago. Come with me." She took the Theresa by the hand. "I know what happened. It must have been that push pin that fell out of my map. I knew there was something I was supposed to do," she muttered.
"Wait!" yelled Penny, coming in with a box of candy bars. "If you are going to South Africa, would you take this along?"
"Ooh, chocolates," said the Theresa. "That will be very nice if I get hungry on the trip."
"You will be asleep," replied Penny. "But I guess you could eat some if you want" she added, not wanting to sound selfish. "We’ve been saving them for a box going over there. We want to send them to our friend Sally."
"And Brenda!" chimed in Taryn.
"And don’t forget Erin," said Angel.
"Don’t worry, we have several bags of chocolates to send," said Corky. "There will be enough for everyone. Just also be sure to give all the Twinns at the Tumbling Twinns a big hug from us."
"OK," said the Theresa. "I’ll be glad to." She and Kimmie headed out the door, with Kimmie yelling "Harmony!!!"
The Emmas chuckled. Everyone liked Kimmie but none of them would have wanted to be her secretary.
"We’d better run, too," said Angel. "C’mon, Andi. What are you going to say when the dentist asks if you have been flossing?"
"I’ll lie," answered Andi. "Doesn’t everyone?"
