Living as far away from a harbour as I do has meant that any visit to a port is always a special occasion, it also means I have to try to utilise it the fullest. Naturally the craft which work in these harbours are of interest to me, and I have been very fortunate in being able to visit many of them over the years. This is my tribute to the ships and their crews. I am grateful to Ken Malcolm for sharing his knowledge of tugs with me and filling in the many gaps which exist here, as well as Howard Burr, Terry Hutson, and Dayle for their contributions.
