The Arrival Stories

Over the years Jo and I wrote a lot of stories about the Twinns and their adventures, and these were a lot of work, but a lot of fun too. The irony is that in some cases the story happened on two separate continents with a bit of fantasy thrown in for good measure. The Twinns are pretty good actresses too, although they can be very uncooperative when it comes to standing up straight. The same characters tended to appear too, but that was something that happened. Some Twinns just were easier to adapt to a starring role. Naturally we had good guys and bad guys, and there were quite a few plushies that made regular appearances, depending on who was playing a part. The name Tumbling Twinns came about when I was trying to think of a suitable collective noun for a lot of Twinns, and I kind of liked “A Tumble of Twinns”. Somewhere there is a picture of some Twinns in the tumble dryer, did I mention that Twinns like adventure?

I feel ill....

I feel ill….

Unfortunately at one point the stories dried up. My own creative processes ran dry due to strain at work and too many other problems that seemed to just stifle anything I wanted to do. Alas, I lost contact with Jo, and when my job went belly up I ended up having to sell my girls. It was heartbreaking. When I came to the UK in 2013 I did not bring any with me, but after my trip to SA in 2014 I was able to bring four back with me to the United Kingdom, and still have one back in South Africa.  Once again I am enjoying time with Caitlyn, just like I used to when I first bought her over 10 years ago.

When I made the decision to rationalise the website I did consider shutting down the Twinns section of it, but we put in way too much work into it, so until I get a chance to reformat the stories into the blog format I am just linking straight to them from this page. Be aware though, the stories do feel dated at some points, and the photography can be a bit dodgy, but consider it more of a retro feel. Enough waffling though, let’s get on with the show.
