Welcome to the Tumbling Twinns blog. Many people have asked “What happened”? Sadly, I was retrenched in 2011 and as such had to dispose of as many the girls as I could to raise funds to survive. I then made a decision to relocate to the United Kingdom, and after being there for 14 months I was able to bring 4 of my remaining girls (Caitlyn, Dawn, Skye and Nicole), while Sally is still living with Eleanor and Amanda in Roodepoort. It broke my heart to break up my vinyl family, but fortunately most of the collection has gone to the same person who I know is taking good care of them.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jo for all the girls I got from her, and I am just sad that I was never able to return them to her, but be rest assured, her legacy will continue in four Twinn colonies in South Africa that have arisen.
In line with the downscaling of my website I was tempted to remove this section too, but Dawn threatened to bring out her chainsaw and sort me out if I did. There is a lot of work in these stories, so they will survive. Initially links will direct to the website pages, but I will gradually move those pages to the blog platform. This blog will catalogue some of the many adventures and the goings on of the Twinns and their sisters and brothers around the world, and this remains as a record of a group of Twinns who adventured and had fun. I have split the stories up into different sections because that was how the page was originally, navigation is via the drop down menu at the top, or via the menu the right of the page. Or, if you feel that way inclined you may use a Twinn (or two) for assistance.
*Update August 2016*
I was saddened to hear of the closure of “My Twinn” in January 2016. It was the end of an era for many collectors, and it also makes one realise that there are really only so many Twinns left in the world.
Ok.. now onto the stories!
