The photographs of this memorial were taken by “Nsapato” and feature on Panaramio (Panoramio has been discontinued). Special thanks to James Houston-McMillan for obtaining permission and finding these images.
The memorial may be found at 17° 55′ 37.09″ S, 25° 51′ 50.58″ E. It commemorates “The Memory of Northern Rhodesians who gave their lives for the Empire in the Great War 1914 – 1918.” and was unveiled in 1923. Unfortunately it appears as if there was an additional panel of names on the memorial as it starts at “M” but there is no sign of A-L. I am unable to supply images of the other panel. However, if you are researching Rhodesians who served in the wars consider visiting the Rhodesian Services Association Incorporated
