Cemetery Chapels

Cemetery Chapels abound in the UK, many cemeteries had two; an Anglican Chapel and a Dissenters (aka Non-Conformists Chapel). Many are magnificent buildings, and many have listed status. Sadly though many have not survived over the ages and finding some of the really stunning examples is always a bonus. A lot of chapels have also been sold off for use as business premises, or simply boarded up against vandals, quite a number were destroyed by bombing during the war and some; like the magnificent chapel in Prestbury Cemetery in Cheltenham are used in a number of roles, and are really the centerpiece of a beautiful cemetery.

I always enjoy seeing them, and these are just a few examples. I am still gathering images to grow this gallery though, so watch this space!
