Omuthiya today

It has been many years since Ieft Omuthiya in body, but it has never left my dreams or my memory. I have always wanted to know what it looked like today and I was fortunate enough to obtain the following photographs from Ariel Hugo which were taken in 2009. A number of changes had been made to the base since I left in 1981 and I cannot document what these were, but maybe one day photographs will come along that will enable us to do a "before" and "after". The Commemorative Needle may have been moved from Omuthiya to Walvis Bay and subsequently to Lohatla where it was Photographed by John Dovey.
